Reborn

"It came out all of a sudden, I didn't even realize it. It grew very fast, relentlessly, changed shape, self-selected. We knew that playing God was not a good idea, but what else could we do? We were on the verge of extinction, we needed that knowledge if we were to survive. Then when I saw her, crawl out and stand up… in that moment I knew we had made it, we had made it; that face was the test subject on the couch, dead, and then she was standing in front of me, alive, reborn.
My body will soon be fully assimilated, now I'm part of her ... of them ... of us, and I'm fine now, I'm better.
Soon everyone will be better"

"E' uscito di colpo, neanche me ne sono reso conto. Cresceva velocissimo, senza sosta, cambiava forma, si autoselezionava. Sapevamo che giocare a fare Dio non era una buona idea, ma che altro potevamo fare? Eravamo sull'orlo dell'estinzione, ci serviva quella conoscenza se volevamo sopravvivere. Poi quando l'ho vista, strisciare fuori e alzarsi in piedi...in quel momento capii che ce l'avevamo fatta, ci eravamo riusciti; quel viso, era il soggetto test sul lettino, morta, e poi era davanti a me, in piedi, viva, rinata.
Il mio corpo sarà presto assimiliato del tutto, ora sono parte di lei..di loro....di noi, e sto bene adesso, sto meglio.
Presto staranno tutti meglio"
